Subscription Guide
Understand ScryRPG pricing, AI credits, read-only help, and shared table mechanics.
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Overview
ScryRPG plans are built around AI capacity and shared table mechanics, not manual inventory action quotas. Free users can start with the looking glass, and paid plans add larger AI credit pools, more active campaign space, and table sponsorship.
Where to check current plan details
The public Pricing page and the in-app Settings > Subscription screen show current plan details.
What Stays Stable
- Core campaign, party, character, inventory, shop, loot, lore, Discord, and marketplace workflows remain available.
- Your familiar remains part of ScryRPG, not a separate product.
- You can check current usage in the web app or with
/usagein Discord. - Existing paid users and discounts keep the grandfathering rules shown during billing.
AI Credits and Read-Only Help
ScryRPG separates two kinds of AI usage:
| Usage type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Read-only help | Lower-cost help such as questions, prep support, and campaign reasoning. Launch plans include this with fair-use protection. |
| AI credits | Variable-cost work such as approved changes, imports, session audio transcription, image generation, and other heavier AI tasks. Credits refresh by plan. |
The goal is simple: routine questions should feel available, while heavier work is metered clearly.
Table Mechanics
Paid plans include shared table mechanics:
All for One
Paid users can contribute a table token during a billing cycle. When enough party members contribute, the party unlocks shared table benefits for that cycle.
One for All
Patron subscribers can sponsor one party so eligible members can draw approved changes from the Patron pool, subject to per-member caps.
Note
These replace the older subscription program names. If you see older wording anywhere, the in-app subscription screen shows your current plan details.
Inventory, Shops, and Loot
Manual inventory changes do not spend AI credits. Plan limits focus on active campaign space and larger shared table workflows where limits are needed.
For day-to-day use:
- You can still view inventory, browse shops, and review party state without spending AI credits.
- Manual item creation does not spend AI credits.
- AI-driven creation, imports, session audio transcription, image generation, and other AI-backed operations can spend credits.
- The app shows the current limit before a capped action is blocked.
Billing Details
Billing Period
Usage resets by billing period, not by calendar month. Paid users reset on their subscription anniversary. Free users reset on their account cycle.
Monthly and Annual Plans
Monthly plans can be changed or canceled month to month. Annual plans provide a lower effective monthly price.
Changing Plans
Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades are scheduled for the end of the current billing period unless checkout tells you otherwise.
Founding Member Program
The Founding Member discount remains honored through billing and grandfathering rules. If you have a Founding Member discount, keep using the same account so it stays attached.
Checking Usage
You can check usage in three places:
- Web: Settings > Subscription
- Your familiar: ask about your remaining usage
- Discord:
/usage
FAQ
Do normal inventory changes spend AI credits?
No. Manual inventory actions, manual item creation, and ordinary party management do not spend AI credits. AI credits are for AI-backed operations.
Do imports spend AI credits?
Yes. Imports use AI capacity when extraction or review requires model work. The import flow should show cost information before you confirm expensive work.
Does session audio spend AI credits?
Yes. Session audio transcription uses 1 AI credit per started 30 minutes of probed audio, minimum 1 credit. Importing the reviewed transcript is estimated separately before extraction.
Is the assistant required?
No. Inventory, shops, loot, party management, lore, and Discord workflows continue to work without your familiar. Your familiar is an additional way to ask questions and take actions.
What happened to the old subscription programs?
They are replaced by AI credits, read-only help, All for One, and One for All.
