What is ScryMarket?
ScryMarket is inventory management for tabletop RPGs. Track items, manage encumbrance, run shops and loot drops, and collaborate with your party in real time — from the web or Discord.
Works with Your System
D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, or Draw Steel — ScryMarket adapts to your game’s inventory rules.
What's New
Recent additions include the AI Workshop for generating custom items, Card Showcase pages with printable item/shop/loot cards, and a Loot system for distributing treasure drops to your party.
Getting Started
Step 1: Sign Up and Onboarding
Option A: Web (Recommended)
- Visit scrymarket.com/register
- Enter your email and password, then verify your email
- The Onboarding Wizard walks you through setup:
- Role — Choose Player, Game Master, or Both
- Game System — Pick D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Draw Steel, or No Preference
- Character (players) — Name your first character and receive a starter pack of essential adventuring gear
- Party — Join an existing party with a code or create a new one
You can skip the wizard and set things up manually later.
Option B: Discord
- Add the bot to your server
- Run any command (e.g.,
/inventory) - Account created automatically — no email required
Info
Discord accounts can add email later for web access at Settings > Account. Web accounts can connect Discord in Settings.
Step 2: Create a Character
The onboarding wizard handles this for most new users. It asks for a character name and gives you a starter pack of items for your chosen game system.
Standalone character creation is also available at Characters > Create Character. The full form includes:
- Name, race, and class (required)
- Level, background, and notes
- Carry capacity (max weight and max slots)
Discord: Your first character is created automatically when you run /inventory.
Step 3: Add Items to Your Inventory
From party inventory (primary workflow):
- Open your party’s Inventory tab
- Click the + button on any container
- The Item Picker slides out with four tabs:
- Marketplace — Browse thousands of community and system items
- My Items — Your previously created templates
- Collections — Curated item bundles
- Party — Items already in your party’s containers
- Use Quick Create at the top to make a custom item on the spot
From the marketplace:
- Browse items at Marketplace > Items
- Open an item’s detail page
- Click Add to Inventory to place it directly, or Fork to create your own editable copy
Discord: /add item:Longsword adds from the marketplace. If no match is found, it creates a custom item.
Step 4: Join or Create a Party
Join with a deep link (easiest):
- Your GM shares a link like
scrymarket.com/join/ABC123 - Works even if you don’t have an account yet — sign up first, then the join completes automatically
Join manually:
- Go to Parties > Join and enter the 6-character code
- A preview card shows the party name, GM, member count, and game system before you confirm
Create a party (GMs):
- Go to Parties > Create Party
- Enter a party name (game system is inherited from your preference)
- Share the generated join code or invite link with your players
Discord: /party join code:ABC123 or /party create name:Dragon Slayers
Step 5: Meet Scrybe
Scrybe is your party’s AI assistant. Instead of clicking through forms, just ask: “Give my spare longsword to Kaelen”, “Spawn a mid-tier loot pile for 5 players”, or “What do we know about the Ashen Chancellor?”.
Web: Look for the sparkles icon floating in the bottom corner of most pages, or visit Assistant from the top nav.
Discord: Run /ask to open a private thread with Scrybe. Everything your party asks is shared in the thread.
See the Scrybe Guide for the full capability list and example prompts.
Setting Up an Existing Group?
If you’re a GM with an active campaign, the fastest path is: create your party, share the join code with your players (have them run /party join code:ABC123 on Discord for instant setup), then load up their inventories before the next session. See the Party Management Guide for a full walkthrough.
Access Methods
| Method | Best For |
